Imagine, for instance, if the medical notes Mr Barker was making had
enquired (politely) how deep a biopsy/loop excision he had taken,
whil simultaneously offering to show the relevant paragraph of
guideline with links on to the original work...
And accepted an indication at that point of care of why he favoured
a different procedure, for that patient, at that time...
Either he would have been reminded of a difference of opinion, and
approached the consensus more closely, or he would have had the
opportunity to record good notes bearing precisely upon the risk
management topic which the MDU will be wishing had been nailed down
even as we converse, and offering the protection that explaining
ones thoughts commonly does.
