Our Practice Nurse representative was elected at a meeting of the p/n's
in the area, who had already organised themselves with area reps also.
This was facilitated by the HA. The District nurse/HV representative
was initially "appointed" by the Community Trust, but I gather has been
ratified at a meeting subsequently.
It is surely *VITAL* that all representatives, not just the GP's, are
properly elected. I know Ahmed's views on the incompatibility of PCG's
and the democratic process, but I disagree. \It is quite possible to
have a democratically organised "shadow" PCG..... and indeed if it
doesn't start off in this manner, how on earth can it become so later.
