We too (my wife and I ) have a cat which is clearly closely related
to Pete's. Our vet gave us a sort of graduated syringe, filled with
anti-biotic, which we were supposed to give the cat; the theory was
that you gave a knurled wheel a further half a turn, and this would
allow the plunger on the syringe to go in a bit further. You opened
the cat's mouth (roughly as per Pete's description) and squirted the
anti-biotic, which was in a form not unlike vaseline, into the cat's
mouth, and the cat would gratefully swallow it. Absolute bullshit.
Is it possible to administer anti-biotics and the like with a
suppository? At least that way the cat cannot spit it out all over
you and the furniture.
