Unfortunately, this is fairly common nowadays in the NHS. Everyone looking after
their our butts only. Sefton Co-op almost didn't get off the ground a year and a
half ago as the commercial deputising agency targeted several large practices and
offered them "sweeteners" like no retainer for a whole year in an attempt to
derail the Co-op. That large practice needless to say did not join in but
fortunately we had just enough members to get it off the ground with help from
the HA. Life has been a lot more pleasant since.
