The new PGEA proposals worry me. I am not sure that in-house based PG learning
can work. We cannot stop the whole practice for a day. It seems that the only
way we can do it, even if it is viable, is by doing during our own time. Thus
the DoH will get an extre weeks service for no extre pay! as most GPs take a
weeks PG leave at present. One of the major advantgaes of attending PGEA
courses, despite acknowledging their problems as far as the RCGPs
'self-laerning' ethos is concerned, was the networking and chating to other
GPs (and non-GPs onmany courses) that takes place.
Thoughts.
