<<Some years ago when we started the first Multifund I proposed a doctors
shareholding company which would own our own IT. My colleagues at the time
thought
this was premature. My neighbour a partner in Anderson Consulting believes
that
only a large doctor run company can meet the ethical and other challenges
ot
tomorriw.
Would anyone like to hear more?>>>
Did it. Got messed around. But a great idea and if I was doing it
again.......yes it would have to be
1. cover a lot of practices/area of the UK
2. be VERY well capitalised.
3. have a lot of support from the profession.
Certainly in our wee company (Darien Systems, N Ireland) when it was going,
we had a depth and breadth of IT experience, management experience,
clinical experience, sales and marketing, business etc etc etc way ahead of
the bigger competitors. Meaning that doctors come with a hell of a lot of
talent they don't even know they have, talent which a purely commercial
company would find nearly impossible to assemble.
