I've just heard (in a routine LMC Newsletter) that the Regional
Boundaries have changed - *again* - and as of 1.4.99, Bedfordshire will
be part of a new Eastern Region; the little further information I have
is mainly about who's been given which post..
I don't remember any announcements, discussion documents, business case
or publicity about this change.
I'm feeling even more like a football - Bedfordshire was removed from a
dark, distant corner of NW Thames in 1994, and put into Anglia & Oxford
Region - in a bottom, peripheral position. After the 18 months or so it
took for the new Regional Office to settle down (and move to a central
position in Milton Keynes..soon to be on the periphery of a different
Region ;-<<), some function seemed to return..
Now we've got a complete reorganisation of Primary Care coming in on
1.4.98 - *and* this unpublicised reorganisation of Regional Outposts -
bodies charged with ensuring that the PCGs are up and running on 1.4.98!
Does *anyone* have *any* idea of what's going on? Why? and what the
effects are likely to be in both short and longterm?
Still shellshocked,
Mary
PS If there was a management buyout in the DOH, would you buy shares?
