Sharp HC4500, with inbuilt pocket MS office. Automatic synch to the desktop
of my home computer (a laptop - I haven't had a desktop at home for 3
years).
It has 16Mb of memory and because of the small code used, the 73Mhz
processor behaves like a Pentium. After 2 weeks I remain very impressed, and
think that the concept of PC companion is a useful one. I can pick up email
on it at the surgery, off line browse and reply or delete, sending the
replies when I next connect (like this one - actually its now 0955 on Thurs
am, 1 pt has DNA'd so I'm going through my email!
Mark Trowell: Thanks. Unfortunately AFAIK portable EMIS won't go onto CE
yet.
Andrew Herd: If portable EMIS would work on a CE palmtop, it would be the
one thing that would get me out there and buy one, I think.
My problem: I have two PCs one at work and one at home - like most of you
I guess.
What I need is a SMALL ?CE based machine that synchronises both PCs -
particularly OL98 and allows selected files (word/excel/e-mail) to be
updated on both PCs similar to Briefcase. EMIS download too would be
useful
Also, if OL98 could be made to work for two users sharing the same PC at
home updating diaries etc as per our LAN at work then that would be just
dandy.
Can this be done anyone??
