Right, chaps and chapesses, when was the last time you checked your
cold chain?
On perusing my LEC Pharmacy fridge which holds our vaccines, (bought
with FHSA assistance 3 yrs ago when they were trying to clear their
budget surpluses) I was not surprised to find the temperature at 6.5
degC which, thought I, was fine as most cold store thingies have to be
kept between 2 and 8 degC.
Imagine my alarm therefore when, on closer inspection of polio vacc
shows it needing to be kept between 2 and 4 degC.
No amount of fiddling achieves this aim and contacting LEC just now,
they say only a 2-6degC range is guaranteed. (So why did the FHSA not
spot that when negotiating their job lot in 1995?)
Anyone else found similar probs? Anyone else (besides Jeff of course)
actually *aware* of the 2-4 degC range? And what do you do?
Cheerio,
Graham
