Can anyone help me? I finally got round to trying to upgrade to Windows
95 today (there's a gale - not much else to do!). Removed Vsaf from the
autoexec.bat file, and all went well.. I didn't install Microsoft
Exchange, but otherwise did the recommended settings everywhere.
I've had to uninstall it already..
The problems:-
1.Won't let me connect to the internet. I use Turnpike - so it said I
had to re-install. Did that and there was something wrong with the
c:windows\systini file . I put in the three commands the help file told
me to - and then spent a frustrating time removing other lines like
"device=vsnd16.386" and other "device=x".. to no avail! It wouldn't even
let me load windows 3.11, which I'd transfered onto my second hard disc!
2.After showing the Windows 95 screen, waiting to tell me various
Netfiles were not installed, and showing the windows logo again, the
screen turns into a dizzy display of lines.. only solved by turning the
monitor off and on again.(might be useful to hang onto this one as a new
security device!)
3.Neither reinstalling Wordperfect 6.0 nor installing Windows 95
reinstalled the 2 .DLLs missing when I open wordperfect .. and it
*still* won't print on my new HP Deskjet 690C .. and I've given the 500C
it's hankering after to my nephew! ;-<<<
Can anyone help - or should I just buy a new computer? ;-<<
