Thanks for all the email. More than I've ever had for
any other post. Quite restores my faith etc.
Anyway, bit more information. This guy is "built". If not
quite like the brick sh1t house then almost. He works
out a lot and has biceps like tree-trunks. I couldn't
find a large cuff but I am making arrangements for one
to be supplied soon.
Lying flat, the bp in both arms was 120/80. Sitting him
him up makes the bp rise to 130/100 in the lt arm and
150/110 in the rt arm.
Until know, I had no idea that the physiological variation
in bp could be so great. Is the muscle bulk in his upper arm
influencing the reading?
No signs of radio-femoral delay. All pulses easily palpable.
No murmurs. A bit overweight but a lot of it seems to be muscle.
