Subject: The cost of data
Ok - so we had fundholding - we got nearly 100pc reimbursed on the IT
solutions (was it 100pc on soft and 75 on hard - I cant recall exactly).
Most of us used data from our clinical system to manage our funds.
Savings went directly to help our patients - so although we were funding
50pc of our clinical systems from our own pockets there was some payback
in that if we used them to produce good data then we could manage things
well and make the savings.
(BTW - this is not an opportunity to hijack the thread with all the
stuff about the use of savings etc - please)
PCGs will probably now want to use our data from those systems that we
pay 50pc for from our own families income, to manage the NHS.
[Huw Thomas] good quality data - pcg's should pay - going rate is 40-60p /pt /year acording to listsize
get good quality data, validated with random checks for completeness and correct code - and charge them??
what do you think
Something seems wrong here me thinks - unless you are the govt of course
in which case you have GPs funding the management IT infrastructure-
sounds like a bargain to me.
Good morning all - is that the coffee I can smell? ;-)
Cheers :)
