A sort of Collective Consciousness? ;-)
But I agree, they (computers) are not really out of gestation yet.
Still, I hear that experiments are being (?been) conducted using EEG
patterns and FFT to create a more natural interface between the
carbon/silicon barrier. When that direction matures then perhaps they
can aspire to be more of a partner than an awkward tool, whether their
substrate is silicon or otherwise.
In the meantime it makes a great toy.
