Most RH and NH are profit organisations and the more staff and transport the
less the bottom line. Why should you as a Co-op subsidise them so they get
more dosh?
If the medical condition is such that they are able to travel ie they are
mobile, then OOH GP should insist that the NH should provide transport and
escort. If they haven't got said then ask them to get the NH owner to bring
them over in their Merc! Interesting to say that if they don't and patient
suffers as a result it is the NH that is failing in duty of care not the
doc! ;-)
