The best way we have been advised is to get the practice to pay for it
directly. If you purchase it, then you have to be reimbursed by the
practice and this is much more likely to be picked up on. I can't see any
reason that a fish tank shouldn't be any less tax deductible than, say,
pictures or carpets. I bought quite a few nice things for my room which the
accountant didn't blink at e.g. plants, pictures, pots, curtains, etc. None
are _essential, but they are not unreasonable. I guess a Killer Whale in
your consulting room would be more difficult to defend. ;-)
