Interesting question. Before producing our practice Web site, I did consider whether this might be construed as advertising.
However, in the UK we are *required* to make infomation about our services available to patients. We are expected to "advertise" our practices in the form of leaflets made available at a variety of locations, in media such as Yellow Pages, and to allow our practices to appear in listings of various kinds.
My understanding is that we are allowed to make our presence known, and to provide factual data about the services we offer. However, we are not allowed to claim that we are superior to other practices, to make dispaging remarks about other docs etc.
