Anyone out there who can tell me why my Gateway 266 64Mb keeps crashing
annoyingly with the error message "Kernel 32 caused a general protection
fault in module KRNL386.EXE at 0001:00007572"? Only way out is
CTRL-ALT-DEL. Even Nuts n Bolts Recover doesn't get over it.
Gateway say that Kernel 32 is to do with the video driver, but I've
replaced it with the latest one from STB Nitro and it still happens. Now
they say I should re-install Windows95 and see if it still happens. That
seems to me to be a recipe for either disaster, or a goodly waste of
valuable time and I doubt if it is going to help.
Can any of you erudite techies out there give your opinions (without
prejudice, of course?
TIA
Graham
