Snide comment! Can't resist rising to the bait!!!!
Not a member, sorry. A prominent College member put me off when I was a
trainee 23 years ago, with his insulting attitude to a local surgeon who was
very pro general practice, and for whom I had great respect. Can't stand
empire building pratts. Having said that it was a prominent College member,
the late Michael Lennard, who inspired me to take up general practice with
his human and holistic approach. I gave up as a trainer after 15years
because of other demands on my time, but was disillusioned towards the end
with the way training had become geared to passing the exam rather than
learning the job.
As a medical politician I make no secret of my views. If you disagree with
them then convince me I am wrong. I am always open to reasoned argument. I
try to represent the views of my electorate as best I can, and if they don't
like what I represent then they will not vote for me. It's called democracy!
