I'd agree that a lot of checks appear not to have been done, and if
done, seem to be recorded in unusable formats. What does "annual
diabetic review" actually *mean* - and how do you code it?I checked the
feet of one of my long term IDDM patients (under hospital care, I hasten
to add!;->) recently;she was most surprised - *never happened to her
before*!
It's almost more dangerous if care is "shared" - but everyone assumes
the other party is doing most of the work!
I'm sure the Wirral has everything beautifully computerised - but all
that's really needed is a piece of paper and a check list... and
insisting that every box is filled on a regular basis.. say at the
annual review.. ;-<
