In my area, there are 3 Practices (total of 11 principals) who remain
sutbbornly outside the forming PCG.
One of them (Risk) has said that he does not recognise the PCG. My
absence from the meetings is recorded as such.
The other 2 Practices said they did not want to join even though they
still attend the meetings (I don't attend to preserve my 'purity').
This has caused the HA a problem. They need to report to RO that *all*
Practices in the area have been engaged in the discussions, *and* have
*agreed* to be members of the PCG.
To date, they have not been able to say that. Hence, in my opinion,
the 'due process' condition has not been fulfilled. Irresdpective of
what Milburn can say or do, this is one PCG that *does not* have the
support of all its constituencies and there is not a damn thing they
can do about it right now unless they change the Law. But then we
would be in a different landscape, present contract becomes invalid
and we start to negotiate new contract. Yes? ;-)
It would be interesting how this story will develop. I'll keep you
informed.
