How old is elderly and what was his prognosis and state before this?
>How often does this happen in General Practice ?
Very rarely. In the seven and a half years I have been in this practice
I Have never needed resus in the practice ansd twice at home. We are
also a small practice and I am embarrased by the drugs and equipment we
don't keep but I prefer that to having out of date drugs and
malfunctioning equipment. Can/should we afford the drugs and defib when
there is a move afoot for high street stores to have them. Did you know
that every boots in Oxford Street has one??

as above

none that I know about

No way now

Dunno

Maybe Depending on patients pre event state may have considered stopping
earlier
>What resusc training is given to Practice staff ?
We try to have yearly session by resuss officer from local trust
>Single handed practice. Small premises. I am reviewing the whole incident.
Don't beat yourself up too much. It could have happened anywhere and you
and your staff did their best. Learn from but don't dwell on it!
