No you are not being unreasonable.
What exactly does the lay acupuncturist wish to know?
Has he/she go Mr Xs signed written consent for release
of medical information?
How will it help the management of the case?
I suspect the lay acupuncturist is in doubt about the
diagnosis. Since they are in no position to make a
medical diagnosis themselves, they should ask for your
opinion directly.
Why don't you refer your patient to a doctor acupuncturist?
There must be several in Leeds.
Details of how to find a medical acupuncturist are available
on the British Medical Acupuncture Society Web Site

Subject: Annoying request no. 360
Hi all,
Trying to ring our surgery this lunchtime and had to hang on a while.=0AE=
ventually, when the phone is answered, receptionist apologises and says t=
hat=0Aeveryone is looking for Mr X's results.
He has chronic fatigue syndrome and wants a photocopy of his blood test=
=0Aresults to show his acupuncturist (not medically qualified) who has as=
ked if=0Ahe may see them. They are all within the normal range except fo=
r borderline=0Ahigh creatinine and albumin and I will repeat them in a fe=
w weeks.
So far the acupuncturist has performed an acute cashectomy to the tune of=
=0A=A3300. Mr X thinks he has improved slightly. He is waiting for an app=
t. at the=0Ahospital Fatigue clinic.
Request for photocopies refused. Am I being unreasonable?
