Manpower is the most expensive resource in the NHS, and improved or
quickened recovery saves that.
It shouldn't be continued for months - ACBS.

I would be interested in seeing any evidence for manpower savings. Anecdotally
for our practice, patients on these things are amongst the highest users of
medical services.
