As far as I can gather the 7UKP daily is the standard fee for hotel services in
the French National system. They used their E111 and the whole episode did not
cost anything for the medical services.
2. Yes. Not sure how well it works. I remember in S.Italy paying 40 quid for
an XR and plastering job for my daughter's broken arm. (that's another long and
not very amusing story.)
3. Haven't a clue.
4. again no idea. I think though that standards throughout the EU are very variable.
Locally we get a lot of German junior hospital staff. They all seem to be very
good, very polite in the phone, usually the patients have nothing but praise for them.
