And interestingly enough there is a campaign afoot by mental health teams
to support practice nurses because, so we're told, 90% of mentally ill
patients are cared for in general practice. As the mental health teams only
have resources to care for the "serious" cases they would like to empower
practice nurses to take more responsibility in the guise of
collaboration,multi-professional working etc. I wonder how GPs feel about
supplementing the mental health team from their staffing budget?
