Did I miss seeing what is both as effective, and also has been shown by
considerable use to be safer, as opposed to anything used much less and
implicated in no ill-effects, yet?
This list occasionally has pretensions to be academic, and it would be
nice to see evidence of eg Phenergan being followed by SIDS with some
pre-processing such as indicating whether the rate at which babies die
of SIDS who have also had Phenergan was different from the rate at
which they die of SIDS not having recently had Phenergan.
There is presumably an association between respiratory infections and
use of a supply of Phenergan which may have been obtained for some
other reason, and this might confound matters.
I think probably the safest approach to a baby whose unsettled nights
are driving its mother mad is a grandmother, or aunt - but probably
giving mum some Phenergan and asking dad to look after the sprog would
be helpful.
