Congrats - wish there was more of this sort of thing going on. Probably result in the same sort of action as has befallen the Roche reps - take no prisoners!!

Subject: EBM and drug advertising
I am proud !!! to announce a victory over the Aricept advertising
campaign.
Today I received confirmation that the Prescription Medicines Code of
Practice Authority ruled that the advertisements were in breach of
Clause 7.2 of the code of Practice. The Appeal Board considered that
the advertising was not a balanced view of the data.
I have scanned the full ruling and if anyone, or the list wishes, I
can email them to you (the spelling may be a bit out in places, OCR
and no medical spell-checker) to see the evidence and arguments I
used (and another practitioner). There are two files 5K and 48K Word
2 format.
The last advert will be placed on 10/6/98.
Really pleased with myself:-):-):-)
I wonder what penalities will incurred by Pfizer and Eisai...
if any:-(
