The existing X400 system would screw up our GP Links and IoS links
EDIFACT transfers then, where it not the fact that they have already
been FUBAR and since the system is not to be developed further there is
little point in trying to fix them again.
The EDIFACT messages come as files transferred on Racal which are
differentiated by their 3 character suffixes AFAIK, and identified by
their first 8 characters before the dot.
So a system which renamed the files as it transmitted them (and what
pillock thought that was a good idea I wonder) would deliver unusable
files contianing th estructured messages.
Maybe everyone elses EDIFACT solutions use different naming conventions.
