No, but I seem to be used to a degree of professional courtesy in
Exeter which may exceed that in some other areas.
Our consultants commonly see GPs as courtesy patients in their rooms,
and this is not normally during the time the GPs would be seeing
patients. I see no reason why we should not extend the same courtesy.
The BMA Division meeting here, on the 17th of June, is for GPs and
Specialists to discuss how we will work together in the new order, and
I think an approach like mine on both sides may be better than any
other.
As you all know, I am in all matters the mildest of men, the soul of
tact and discretion...
