I believe that the t stands for "tiny and transient"!!!!!
I have several patients who have been started on it. It has been a well
tolerated and very effective antihypertensive, although the ankle oedema is
still a problem. The concept of the t-channel is an interesting one. I am
surprised at the sudden withdrawal in view of the vigour with which Roche
promoted the substance, and wonder if worldwide withdrawal might not be a
premature knee jerk reaction to any possible legal challenge. If so this
will not bode well for the early release of other new and potentially
valuable drugs. I shall be interested to find out more.
