It is a general To whom it may concern... I see no reason as of todays date
why this lady should not persue her intended journey blah blah. Should I add
a disclaimer that I give no guarentees that an obstetric emergency will not
arise. I dont want the bill for a 747 redirection landibg on the practice
mat?

My understanding is that BA, who sem to be the point of reference for this
sort of thing accept pregnancies up to 32/40 long-haul and 36/40 short-haul.
If in doubt, I ask the patient to check that the airline is willing to carry
them.
Mind you, given that the patient is a doctor, I' add every disclaimer I
could.........
As far as the heparin goes, what is the evidence that it is appropriate for
long haul flights on a pregnant woman with ( I presume) no history of DVT or
PE? None that I'm aware of. If she,as a senior registrar in a hospital
specialty knows, she should tell you or arrange for the appropriate
specialist to prescribe it for her.
This seems to nasty mixture of hospital contempt for GPs and patient demand.
