the answermachine was already in place when I joined the surgery however
patients are given a phone number it is direct to the answering machine and
available 24hours a day the number is printed on the repeat precscription side
of their script the recorded message asks the patient tostate clearly name,
address, d.o.b and then they can either give the number of the drug they want
from the list on the script or name the drug [you get some fun with that one]
they are also asked to state if they wish the script to be sent to a
particular chemist. one of the office girls then puts the tape into arecorder
and listens to the tape while at the computer and basically p[rints the
scripts off at that time and adds a sticker for requested chemist if the girl
has any difficulties making out the drugs she can then phone the patient to
verify. the docs sign the scripts the next morning. by the way we use gpass I
hope this answers your question it really isnt as difficult as it may sound if

years and its only broken down once in that time.
