Having just lost a young patient to an MRSA pneumonia, I was stunned to do a
swab on a child with nappy rash the other day and find that the baby had
MRSA too.
The child hadn't been near an antibiotic for two years, and has no obvious
contacts. This is the first community MRSA I have ever come across up here,
and it bodes ill, although I doubt it will do the kid any harm.
Has anyone else seen cases like this? I guess it must be more common down
south.
