Sounds like it is time to move on. You wont miss the money as clinical
assistant rates are just another facet of the abuse that you are allowing
yourself to be submitted to. Ask yourself what you are learning at this
point. It may be better to move to a different speciality. At least you
might learn something new whilst enduring the abuse.
>Gentle chat with consultant has not worked.
He/She dosent care about you . He/she is abusing you. Leave the
relationship. Value yourself and your skills.
> Can I have any resort against the trust if regularly kept beyond 3.5

Of course. Present your invoice for the time you on average spend extra at
the clinic.
>can I walk out at 3.5 hours leaving him to get on with it.
Of course not. That would be unprofessional and would only inconvenience the
patients.
I would suggest you see 15 follow up patients with a 15 minute coffee break
and 2 new patients with joint consultant review.
Hand in your notice now if they are not prepared to do this. Its the only
language they will understand. Write to your LMC and get the clinic
blacklisted.
Am I right in thinking that the original purpose of the clinical assistant
scheme was to provide a learning experience?
