Installed (tried) Outlook 98 on two PCs at work last night - and killed
them. I used the PCPro cover disk - both machines had Outlook 97 on -
didnt install IE4 - on one setup didnt run and it just died - on the
other, setup ran and then it it died when rebooted.
On booting w95 starts to start and then wheite text on black screen
says Windows Protection Fault (or similar) and says I ned to re-boot -
and guess what - the cycle repeats itself.
Safe Mode works.
If I do line by line confirmation of startup then I get all the way
through to the _Win_ command and it falls over.
i have used the disk to put Outlook 98 on at home with no problems (one
difference is that I run IE4 on my home machine).
I am a bit p**sed of with computers at present - haveing just returned
from my HD crash (BTW I have called my new HD _Crash_ just to remind me
of its vulnerability ;-)
Any suggestions - re-install 95?
- try Uninstall Outlook via Safe Mode? (but it didnt
really seem to get too much installed on the first machine that it
killed)
All thoughts welcome
Cheers :)
