We use a logitech pagescan pro (not USB) for all of out scanning. Works a
treat. Simply put a document one end and hey presto. You can scan up to 50
docs in one go (takes about 10-15 mins) and then process them all together,
run a quick work macro to split em up and paste each into the clinical
system (EMIS with LV1 in our case). We have 10,500 patients and it takes
about 1-2 hours per day (more on monday!!).
Looked at Flat beds, document feeder was expensive (at least the cost of the
scanner) and we didn't fancy using a flatbed on its own as it is as labour
intensive as a photocopier, and slower).
Good luck
