Why not use the belt & braces approach. By all means send an
e-script via your buildings internal network. But give the patient a
piece of paper with the script on it, which the dispensing physician
signs. That way you have the benefits of an automatic capture of
the e-script if it is dispensed within the building, as well as the
legal(?) requirement for a signature on a document. It also covers
my earlier problem of the patient who wanders off to a random
pahrmacist to get the prescription fulfilled; but leaves you with
the problem of unfulfilled e-scripts sitting in your system. Oh
well, you win some, you lose some!
