Does anyone know a reference for the most recent robust demolition of the idea that a PSA is a useful screening tool for otherwise healthy and asymptomatic men.
I had an idea it was in Bandolier, but a scan through recent editions revealed no such paper.
We seem to be having a minor epidemic of men coming in with specific requests, having just read the literature including that mine of balanced peer-reviewed medical information, the Daily Mail.
My heart tends to lower a little (not sink) when patients come in clutching a cutting, but it definitely sinks when that cutting is from the aforementioned DM.
Perhaps we could get a league table going here.................
