I am looking on my desktop at this very moment at a receipt indicating
that a colleague has read a mailing of mine relating to a local problem
of attempted suppression of a functioning system here in Devon, which
has full support of LMC, in favour of NHS Net, which is of course not
yet available to us.
The notification said that NHSE forbade any other system since they
were not in accordance with NHS Net...It didn't say _who_ at NHSE.
Neither of us is on an SMTP connection today, although we have used
them to access the same mail system.
At the same time, one of our problems and big expenses (eg I have just
heard a £108 pound booked locum has been wasted by cancellation) is
arranging meetings with our local IT director and Finacne director,
both of whom have X400 NHS Net connections, but neither of whom appears
to receive e-mail.
Naturally, if they could communciate by e-mail, the meeting which is to
discuss communications.....would not be necessary.
It does not augur well for NHS Net, in practical use by the NHS.
