Dunno about Leeds (it being in the South!), but up here in Newcastle the
medical students seem to thrive in GP. I've had lots of fun with my
students - they ask intelligent questions, are delighted to find they
can relate medicine to everyday life and have all said how much more
they have learnt in general practice than in hospital ;-) The last
student even got interested in diagnostic tests, and we ended up doing a
2x2 table to decide whether or not a patient should have an exercise
ECG!
