Hi Katie
>Bones was my hero - but it's not the same these days!
Not a patch on the holographic doc in the latest ones. He says all the
things to patients I'd like to but haven't the courage to!
er... If I could get back to the original question? I take it no one has
yet got a provider for the medical tricorder ? Do you have a nebulizer
for the treatment room or you could get one each for that sort of cash -
they're about 100 Sterling.
Silly things I always wish I have like a decent 8" or kiddy sphyg cuff.
How about a McIndoes (?spp) forceps for minor surgery stitching.
We are in a small town and get very generous gifts from patient groups from
time to time which can be added to by some oil refinery companies who will
match in cash stuff for equipment if employees do sponsored activities or
other means of fundraising. We set up a bank account for this and have
funded a powered wheelchair for a particular patient and some fancy
mattresses/flowtrons & TENS machines for terminal care in conjunction with
the local hospice. We use the very original name of "Community Health
Fund" and all the practices share admin in turn and usually have little
trouble agreeing on equipment. You might wish to call it the John Smith
Fund or whatever. This gives a continuing memorial idea to a kindly meant
gift to a community in general.
Tom
PS Have just spellchecked this. It reported "Katie" - no alternative
possible. hmmmm ;-)
PPS > puts mercury from amalgum in the shade!!
I always thought that metallic mercury was safe. it's the mercury salts
which cause the problem (mad as a hatter)
