Long discussion at my LMC last Monday, after the chairman tried to
ignore the issue!!!
Rotherham LMC have decided to try and be *very* proactive. We are
planning two meetings for our constiuents and their practice
managers. First to present and explain the white paper as best we
can, maybe give some suggestions. The second, after 4 weeks to give
everyone (who bothers to come) to ruminate and consider their own
position and options, to develop some "action plans".
We do not want the HA to take the lead on this.
Whilst the white paper is going to be a bigger bang than the new
contract and has enourmous threats and problems associated with it,
unless we take the lead we will undoubtedly end up in a bigger mess
than we are now. The opportunities of a "primary care led NHS" are
there for taking!
As someone has said already, the biggest threat is our own apathy.

Hmmm...I thought the under Tory Blair that we are now meant to be
open and honest;-)
