When a company sells a (Network) OS without the disks or box what do
you think?
Escom had a run-in with the FAST, as it appeared that certain poorly
controlled (allegedly) managers and staff in some of their stores might
have been selling or giving away the same licenced copy of an OS or
other software several times.
Alternatively it may merely have been a lamentable lack of
documentation of their sales, hwoever one of the features that was
obvious was that the original disks and packaging were not being given
to the customer.
A GP from Northern Ireland remarks that his software supplier has
repeatedly failed to provide him with the disks for the Novell NOS they
sold him. Mind you, he was more hacked off about several months of not
being able to print prescriptions, and about still not being able to
have the age of children printed onto the NI FP10. Odd that, I
remember when the field appeared that acts as a flag to say if one is
in NI or not.
