We have Alastair Bellingham (ex-chair Caldicott Comittee and curent chair
NHS-Wide Clearing Service Confidentiality Advisory Board coming to speak
about the confidentiality and security issues involved in connecting the NHS
on 5th June at Wolverhampton (details at http://www.medweb.co.uk/dtp/)
I am hoping that he can shed some light on just that. Lots of worthy stuff
about wiring the "New NHS" , but little fine detail in issues such as data
ownership, access, central disease registers, and unless I have missed it,
no mention of whether the NHSnet (aka EnglishNet) is goint to have clinical
data encrypted or in the clear.
Anyone have any better idea?
Paul Galloway
