Just walked out on a Locality Commissioning meeting in protest at being
censored and not allowed to express my views.
However, thought I'd tell you about the 2 little gems below:
It has become clear that if and when a PCG is formed in my area, it
will inherit the local Trust's deficit.
That deficit currently stands at 2.5 million pounds and unlikely to
diminish over the coming year or next.
It was also made clear that the PCG will have to clear that deficit and
that it must also decide how to do it.
Another inheritance is the 'Waiting List Initiative' which the PCG will
have to implement.
These are the first clear indications that PCGs will have to decide and
implement cuts in services or come up with other means to raise the
necessary finance to accommodate these and other inheritances.
When I asked where the money is coming from, there were looks of
puzzlement all round. Nobody actually had thought about it!
To those still walking in a semi-comatose state I say: sober up before
it's too late!
