Surely it would be as (in)accurate to suggest the departure of
antipodeans from GP-UK. And as bad an idea.
Governments with large majorities, and Health Authorities unrestrained
by an effective GP body in PCGs might well decide to change the rules
in for instance Pharmacy contracts, and at short notice.
After all, GPs had their "contract" very abruptly revised in 1990 - and
although there is considerably more listening and leverage this time,
this is a big change.
Ahmad left out one institution from his list.
I think it will be easier to run the PCGs in a Republic, so one of the
London ones had better take over the Monarchy and close it down. This
further downsizing from the Antipodean one should promote another
increase in efficiency of government and will liberate a useful
building with good parking and easy access to be used as an out of
hours centre.
