does anyone find this a useful exercise or is it purely aimed at
sounding like a "good thing" to patients - I frequently come across the
note entry "no relevant past medical history" only to find thyroxine or
some such listed under medications - sure, one can end up on thyroxine
without a past medical history!
When our senior partner retired, we redistributed his list, but somehow
out of 2000 patients we earned less than £1000 from new patient checks
and it seemed we were doing NPC forever, had reams of data to enter onto
the computer, and generated lots of unnecessary consultations, not to
mention encouraging healthy people to come and see us.
