I went to one - they were invitation only - out of 50 people there were
about 10 GPs. Nurse managers, HA managers, CHCs Social Services, PAMS -
the lot - all feeling that they were likely to be left out by the GPs
if GPs were left to organise it.
In retrospect it seemed rather well managed - to produce the desired
results!

The more you look into the Guidance the more the politics become apparent.
Page 3 (?appropriate)...'Chief Execs of NHS Trusts should take action to
ensure their front-line community nurses are fully involved in taking
forward the development of PCGs'
(what about the back-line nurses?)
..seriously, what this means is that the Trust exec.s can spend oodles of
money ensuring their nurse-managers flood meetings, hold endless meetings
and can generally ensure that the Trust point of view becomes of paramount
importance. GPs will never be able to devote the amount of time that paid
servants of the trust can put in.
Am I paranoid, am I right or am I RIGHT!
