With the proviso that this is from a patients point of view, the drug
database that is currently my first point of call is the USP database at
OnHealth.
http://www.onhealth.com/pharm/di/usp_aa.htm
The above URL points to the first page as it uses a slightly quirky
combination of table and then form as a search mechanism. However, it
has no failed me so far and the entries appear both comprehensive in
detail and well laid out. Because it is a US database I also use the
"Raymot Generic Brand Dictionary" to cross-reference US and UK drug
names. It is compiled by an Australian GP and has proved very useful.

Previous to USP I used RXlist as a primary database but I found it
patchy in coverage.

Finally, if you have the time to delve around one of the most complete
list of pharmaceutical web resources that I know of is the "WWW Virtual
Library : Pharmacy".
http://www.cf.ac.uk/uwcc/phrmy/VL-PP/pharmint.html
I think that is the one I mean and it will be obvious once you access
it! If my memory is failing me then I may be talking about the Virtual
Pharmacy Centre.

Can't help on medical dictionaries and will be interested to hear of any
recommendations.
