Locally, we have acknowledged that there is insufficient funds currently
to properly reimburse GPs, nurses, practice managers etc for the work
that is done. We have a limited amount of funding for GP time, which
must last the whole year. We are keeping a record of total time, as
well as paid time to get some idea of true cost.
However, there is more than there was when we started 5 years ago (NIL),
and the last 3 years (1000 UKP for locality lead GP plus 50 UKP for
attendance at meetings).
I'm not sure if it is confirmed yet, (last document I saw was draft 2)
but now in our pilot year it is becoming 1800 UKP for GP rep from each
of 20 practices (including single handers) and for specific agreed
tasks: 40 UKP per hour for GP time, 100 UKP 1 session, 200 UKP 2 session
(day). Medical Director gets 10000 UKP. 3 other clinical leads each
get 4000 UKP.
Total of 64,000 UKP (just over 50p/patient per year) allocated.
There are also rates for nurses and practice managers, but not got
document to hand.
There are "job descriptions" for the work of each person, agreed with
Locality GPs and Health Authority.
